Interest expense decreased , 000, or 9.2%, to 4, 000 for the year ended December 31, 2000. Interest income was 8, 000 for the year ended December 31, 2000 compared to , 000 for the year ended December 31, 1999. The increase was the result of interest earned on the remaining proceeds from our initial public offering which was completed in May 2000. Income taxes were provided for in the amount of .7 million at a rate of 39.8% in 2000 compared to 8, 000 at a rate of 41.6% in 1999. The decreased rate is primarily due to state income tax structuring initiatives. LIQUIDITY AND CAPITAL RESOURCES Our liquidity requirements arise from debt service, working capital requirements and funding of acquisitions. We have met these cash requirements through cash from operations, proceeds from our line of credit, borrowings for product acquisitions and the issuance of common stock. Our cash and cash equivalents were 0, 000, .2 million and .5 million at December 31, 1999, 2000 and 2001, respectively. Net cash provided by operating activities for the years ended December 31, 1999, 2000 and 2001 was .0 million, .3 million and .0 million, respectively. The sources of cash primarily resulted from net income plus non-cash expense and increased accounts payable and accrued expense, partially offset by increases in accounts receivable and inventories. In 2001, our tax liability was reduced by .9 million due to the exercise of non-qualified stock options by employees. Our purchase of inventory impacts our liquidity. During 2002, we expect to invest cash in the purchase of inventory for our recently acquired product lines and expect we will also experience growth in our accounts receivable as we begin to sell these products which are new to us. We believe that our cash on hand, cash we expect to generate from our operations and availability under our revolving credit facility will be sufficient to fund these working capital requirements. While some of our supply agreements contain minimum purchase requirements, these minimum purchase requirements are not material to us as each case our requirements for inventory substantially exceed such minimum purchase requirements. We expect to use significant cash for operating activities in the future in connection with our development activities. We have estimated that our research and development expenses through 2003 will be approximately .1 million due to continued development work on our proposed migraine product and Robinul line extension, planned reformulations of Prenate GT and other development initiatives. Net cash used in investing activities for the years ended December 31, 1999, 2000 and 2001 was .2 million, .1 million and .4 million, respectively. In 1999 we purchased the rights to market Robinul and Robinul Forte for .0 million in cash with an additional .8 million financed by the seller, which we paid off in January 2001. In April 2000, we purchased the rights to market Ponstel for .0 million. In June 2000, we purchased the rights to market Cognex for .5 million in cash. In August 2001, we purchased the Prenate line from Sanofi-Synthelabo for .9 million in cash. In December 2001, we purchased Furadantin and completed a supply agreement from Elan for .0 million in cash. In addition, we purchased 6, 000, 7, 000, and 1, 000 of property and equipment in the years ended December 31, 1999, 2000 and 2001, respectively. Net cash provided by financing activities for the years ended December 31, 1999, 2000 and 2001 was .0 million, .8 million and .6 million, respectively. During 1999, we borrowed .0 million and incurred indebtedness of .8 million for the purchase of intangible assets. In 1999, we also made payments of .2 million on long-term debt and had a net increase of 7, 000 on our revolving line of credit. The primary source of cash in 2000 was from our initial public offering and the exercise of stock options that provided net proceeds of .3 million offset by payment on the revolving loan agreement of 0, 000 and a net repayment of debt of .7 million. For 2001, the source for cash was the Company's follow-on 24.

Indicate that they continue to perform this valuable function. The example of the fl societies reminds us im that progress in technology and mahufacturing competence are not the only factors conditioning the establishment of media studies in general education. There are other predisposing factors, im cultural and intellectual. One is the state of f l and audio-visualculture in any particular country. A number of the essays recognise this, the most unequivocal of which is Gerard Kruger's on the s situation in the Netherlands. Another i the availability of good materials for study which should particularly include the best and most significant creative achievements in fl and the other im media from all countries. 3 ; Such access to good materials is essential to the build up of the apparatus of organised knowledge and critical scholarship on which education in the media must depend. Many of the essays recognise this. Some of them also point to the need they have felt for good and informative critical and theoretical writing and the importance of film and television criticism t media studies. The problems of o critical awareness, as they affect media education, are also related to the degree to which provision is made for the professional training of creative workers. 4 ; There is an obvious relationship between the level and calibre of professional training in the media and the progress and quality of media studies in general education. The impressiononed erives from the essays as a whole is that media education is best conceived as one of a number of processes that can contribute to the advancement of culture through the new media. Better co-operationbetween the various organizations responsible for these processes should be fostered a all levels, especiallyinternational ones. t The present collectionof papers reflects more fully than any previous publication the range of experience in teaching about the media acquired invarious countries. Their richnessand innovatory variety w l surprise those who learn of these il activities for the first time. Together they reveal how media education can enable the good teacher to illumine relationships between education and i s social, cultural, ethical, economic and political t dimensions in a way difficult to parallel in other curricular disciplines. Personal reports of Susan Bennett on media studies in some countries she visited France, Italy and the Federal Republic of Germany are particularly interesting for the accounts she gives of the varying institutional, ideological and religious contexts of media education in those countries. The essays from Scandinavia underline the importance of the greater political and academic recognition of the status of media education. The essays concern of course many matters of more directly pedagogical interest. One such topic is the relationship between basic theory or what I. Weissfeld in his essay on screeneducation.

Pirituality is a hot topic these days. It is frequently equated with religious beliefs or upbringing and it's that equation that I question. I have frequently been touched and inspired by clients who tell me that being diagnosed HIV-positive led them to a faith they had never experienced before. Many credit God, Jesus or Allah with their continued survival and fervently extol the values of pursuing a deeper spiritual connection as a means of self-support at least, if not healing. And then there's the other side of the coin--clients who have been damaged, in some cases irrevocably, by those who use religion, or their position as authority figures within their religion, to abuse, betray and violate. Unfortunately, my experience has led me to more of the latter than the former. All we have to do is look at a paper or watch the news to see the damage that religious fundamentalism causes. Right now Islam is taking the hit, but the Christians should take their part of the blame too. In the course of human history countless countries have been invaded, cultures destroyed, people tortured and killed with as much arrogance and terroristic fervor as Al Qaida had on September 11. Today, war and violence go on in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East for many reasons, not the least of which, I believe, is the foundational inability of George Bush and his so-called "moral majority" to understand and respect the faith and customs of Islam, to acknowledge that these are ancient civilizations and religions that existed for centuries before the U.S. was even a concept. But don't get me started, don't even get me started. My point is that I believe the spiritual connection can be a profound healing force, tpan.

Summary This paper has presented an analysis for Persian restrictive RCs in HPSG. After providing an overview of some general properties of Persian RCs, resumptive pronouns RPs ; , and their pattern of distribution, as well as their striking similarity with gaps, I reviewed two relevant HPSG works: Pollard and Sag 1994 ; and Sag 1997 ; . In Section 4, I presented my own analysis. I showed how the dependency is in RCs is encoded in the structure by the SLASH feature. I showed how this dependency appears at the bottom of the dependency, how it is inherited from daughters to mothers via head-daughter, and how it is terminated by the non-empty BIND feature of the complementizer ke and colestipol.

The initial doses of bicalutamide 10 mg, 30 mg and 50 mg ; were chosen based on the preclinical studies in rats and dogs, which were considered appropriate models to predict the choice of dosing in man. These bicalutamide doses were rst evaluated in single-dose pharmacokinetic studies, which demonstrated a linear pharmacokinetic prole, a prolonged absorption peak plasma concentration at up to with 10 mg and 30 mg doses and up to 48 with a 50 mg dose ; , and favourable tolerability, with no clinically important adverse results in routine laboratory tests.52 During daily administration, bicalutamide accumulates about 10-fold at all dose levels, and curve tting of multiple-dose data estimates the plasma elimination half-life to be 7 10 Bicalutamide undergoes stereospecic metabolism, with the S-enantiomer metabolised primarily by glucuronidation and the R-enantiomer by oxidation to an inactive metabolite prior to glucuronidation.53 Both the parent enantiomers and their metabolites are eliminated in the urine and faeces, but the S-enantiomer is more rapidly cleared, and the.

Inositol-phosphates were measured, as described previously with a slight modification ; 48 ; . Medium was aspirated, and cells were incubated for 15 min at 37 C the presence of Kreb's solution gased with 5% CO2, 95% O2 and containing 20 mm lithium chloride LiCl ; . The enzymatic assay was conducted at 37 C adding OT 10 7 for 10 min, and the reaction was stopped by addition of an equal volume of ethanol HCl 0.02 N. Plates were stored at 20 C until further processing. All samples were lyophilized and resuspended in 1 ml water and eluted on Dowex columns. To remove free 3Hinositol, the columns were rinsed with H2O and 6 ml of sodium tetraborate 60 mm ammonium formate NH4COOH ; . Then, 6 ml of 1 NH4COOH 0.1 m HCOOH were added to remove total 3H-inositolphosphates. Samples were recuperated separately in scintillation vials.
Another frequently encountered pitfall in expert testimony is the expert's failure to account for other likely causes of a plaintiff's injury. Thus, in Green, despite the fact that plaintiff's expert testimony was admissible on the question of general causation, Magistrate Judge Maas concluded that it was necessary to hold a hearing to determine if the expert's testimony on specific causation was sufficiently reliable. He held that although an expert need not rule out every possible cause before testifying as to a particular theory of causation, in this case the expert would have to demonstrate the basis for his conclusion that plaintiff's injuries were caused by the World Trade Center dust to which he was exposed while working on defendant's boat rather than from his earlier presence in the actual vicinity of the World Trade Center following its collapse.11 and concerta.

Published molecular phylogenetic trees of frogs, based on mitochondrial and nuclear rRNA genes, usually had distinctly longer branch lengths in neobatrachians than in basal frogs Hedges, Moberg, and Maxson 1990; Hay et al. 1995; Feller and Hedges 1998 ; . The neobatrachian mitochondrial genome is characterized by unique genomic rearrangements Macey et al. 1997; Sumida et al. 2001 ; , a feature that can be correlated with higher substitution rates at the nucleotide level Shao et al., 2003 ; . This possible tendency of accelerated rates in neobatrachians merits further exploration, because tree-reconstruction artifacts such as long-branch attraction Felsenstein 1978 ; or erosion Fuellen, Wagele, and Giegerich 2001 ; are widespread phenomena when some taxa have particularly fast or slow substitution rates Philippe and Laurent 1998; Philippe, Germot, and Moreira 2000 ; . Recent work has shown that nuclear protein-coding single-copy genes outperform mitochondrial sequences in reconstructing ancient relationships e.g., Springer et al. 2001 ; . This is probably also true for amphibians, in which mitochondrial genes have been found to have a limited resolution in some cases Graybeal 1993, 1994 ; . In this study we obtained sequences of three markers Rag-1, Rag2, and rhodopsin ; from 26 species of anurans that represent most major frog lineages. We submitted these sequences to separate and combined analyses and investigated possible artifacts in tree reconstruction as well as variations in substitution rate estimation.
In a study of the role of uric acid as an independent factor in CAD, 15 serum uric acid levels in CAD patients were found to be higher than normal.11, 20 The association between increased uric acid levels and CAD in diabetic women is higher than in diabetic men, and is independent of hypertension and nephropathy.21 The prevalence of hypertension has been shown to increase with the rise in uric acid levels.12 In our study, the difference between smokers and non-smokers with respect to plasma uric acid was found to be significant, confirming findings of some investigators. However, some researchers have not found any significant difference. While the Normotive Aging Study showed the increasing effect of cigarette smoking whether active or passive ; on serum uric acid levels, 22 Liu et al.23 observed no such effect; they could not find any difference between smokers and non-smokers. In another study, serum levels of uric acid in active and passive smokers were found to be higher than in non-smokers24 and increased uric acid levels were considered as a factor associated with CAD development.25 Considering the findings of the present study which show the effects of nicotine on serum uric acid and CRP levels, and also in view of the role of CRP and uric acid in CVD, other mechanisms can be presumed to be at play in producing the cardiovascular effects of smoking. It is recommended that studies with controlled serum levels of uric acid and CRP be conducted to confirm the role of cigarette smoking in CVD development through changes in the mentioned variables and copegus.
